About us

One-of-a-kind experience

The Western Ranch Motor Inn has been serving the Syracuse area since the 1950s. The original owner was Ward Sturge. He had a vision of being the best and most modern hotel at the time (1955). The interior had all rustic knotty pine throughout which gives a very warm, comfortable feeling. We have tried to maintain that feeling with down home hospitality with modern amenities like refrigerators, microwaves, free cable and Wi-fi.

It has been family-owned and operated by the Gaworeckis since 1980. Since that time, it has been and continues to be our pleasure to serve you and provide the best experience to travelers to the New York State Fair, Syracuse Nationals, Destiny USA, Syracuse University, Skaneateles Lake, Rosamond Gifford Zoo, Erie Canal Museum, Onondaga Lake and other local attractions.

Classic stylings from the 1950s abound, from our original neon sign to knotty pine and classic memorabilia You even get an actual KEY to your room, and we are also an ATOMIC BOMB shelter! With easy freeway access, you will be right in the middle of many things to do in Syracuse — including catching a Sky Chief’s game, our AAA baseball team. There’s no better place to stay and enjoy great food and entertainment with fellow fans after a game!

DID YOU KNOW: our Inn was featured in movie scenes for American Dresser and The Mountain with Jeff Goldblum, as well as countless Syracuse University student film projects, commercials, shorts, and reality TV shows. Come experience why!
